A WITCH BY ANY OTHER NAME |
While I was working with a little boy, his mom mentioned that she had been telling her friends about me and what I do, and then included that she may have compared me to a “witch”...but that she meant it in the nicest possible way! Witch, Voodoo lady, Healer, Helper, Crazy Lady who works with her hands...I have heard them all, and every time someone comes up with a new way to describe me it always makes me giggle. You see, I have been studying the anatomy, physiology, biomechanics and energy of the body for almost 18 years. What I do is all very scientific in my mind. And I have taught my hands to listen to the unique rhythms of the body and how everything works. I can put my hands on your Liver, and feel if it is in the right position, if it has adequate blood flow, if the energy is good or if it is struggling. I can do this because I have put my hands on thousands of Livers, and I have learned how to listen!
When I have women come to me who have tried everything to get pregnant, and I mean everything, and I feel that the angle of the uterus is off just enough to close off the fallopian tube, I try to help to balance it out – and if magically they get pregnant the next month – I guess that does seem sort of Witch-like? But to me it is all about angles.
I question why what I do is called “Alternative Medicine”. Putting your hands on people to help their bodies feel better is an ancient type of healing...needles, herbs, plants, the laying on of hands goes as far back as the creation of people! To me that makes it the “Original Medicine”! Then again, people who did those things back in the day were called Witches too!
So feel free to call me whatever you like, I take no offence, actually I take it as a compliment. After all, the world needs a little more magic right now!
