Bare with me, as this will be my first blog! I have been running this business in Ablerta now for almost 5 years, and I have experienced more than I ever thought that I could....the question I am asked most often is "what exactly is it that you do?" and my answer is never the same....it changes with every person that I meet, because what I do changes based on what they need! I have been studying the anatomy of the body for 18 years...the physiology of how it works...the biomechanices of how it moves...my brain was so focused on the science for so long because it took that long for me to understand it all (and I am still nowhere near understanding it all, I get that) but now my undstanding and focus is headed in a different direction, and truly feel like I need to write about it....so that brings us here! Read on and enjoy if you feel drawn to it, head on somewhere else if not :)

When the Mormon's come a knockin'

I am not quite sure what it is about our house, or if there is some sort of underground network that tells the different religious groups who to visit, but we certainly seem to be on someone’s list. Once every other week or so we get a group of people who come to share their messages about God, a very nice man who always asks for my husband (and I always am happy to run to get him) – it may or may not have to do with them coming while I was in a bikini sunbathing on my front deck, which seemed to make him very uncomfortable.
Yesterday afternoon, while our door was open (so there was nowhere to hide), a very sweet pair of young ladies came to the door to offer their knowledge and passion about what Jesus has done for them. My littlest, who is a social butterfly to the max, ran to the door to welcome them to our home, said hello in his bouncy voice, and raised his hand and said that he had a question for them. He asked “Why is it that you do this, going to people’s houses to talk about God?”  And believe it or not, his little 5 year old soul was very interested in their answer. I sort of zoned out a little as they explained with great passion about how much they love what they do and what they believe in, and when they asked if we wanted more information I politely declined, and wished them both a good evening, but not before my little sweet boy told them that he had a gift for them. The gift of a blessing. He looked them in the eye, and with his hand raised he said “I wish for your heart to be pure and courageous always”...They both sort of stopped and stared at him for a moment, not quite knowing what to say next, except thank you, and that we have beautiful boys. I may be biased but I totally agree. I may not need more information about their church or beliefs, but the experience of seeing my 5 year old child blessing strangers with so much passion and love was a magical gift from the Universe to me!
